Tyrannosaurus-Rex - SUE
"Sue" is the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus-Rex skeleton ever discovered and is at home at Chicago's Field Museum. She has 300 bones which weigh more than five tons. The moving crew said, "We had to construct a special two-piece crate that could fit around the skull without lifting it. Once in the crate, we were able to carefully lift the enormous skull. It took an entire day just to pack the head.

"Sue's" skeleton will be prepared in a public viewing area before it goes on
permanent display at The Field Museum. The preparation took about two
years, and the complete skeleton is on display in a new exhibit at
Chicago's Field Museum that opened in 2000.
The skeleton is named after Susan Hendrickson, the paleontologist who found
the bones in the Black Hills of South Dakota. This is a monumental discovery
given how well the bones were preserved and the completeness of the skeleton.
Most T-Rex skeletons that have been found are 50-60 percent complete. It is
estimated that "Sue's" skeleton is at least 90 percent complete. Scientists
expect that this skeleton will provide insight into many unanswered questions
about the T-Rex.
